Singapore
Less than twenty hours after arriving in Singapore, we are leaving. It’s a real shame, too, because Singapore was great. Friendly, clean and a welcome break from the Hong Kong heat. We figured it would be worse here, being so close to the equator, but an afternoon thunderstorm cooled things off a lot.
The area where we stayed was only a couple of blocks from an open-air market/fruit stand that was quite extensive. Clothing and jewelry stands predominated the majority of the market, but with no shortage of gift shops peddling wooden Buddha statues and “I <3 SG” t-shirts as well. Ice cream carts and fortune tellers that were strategically set up throughout the square.
